Shadow CAT is the shadowy form of the Monster Cat and the quaternary antagonist of Five Nights at Candy's 3. It first appears on the pre-night cutscene of Night 3, and is only seen through its jumpscare when the player stands in the darkness too long. Shadow CAT does not appear in the "Shadow Challenge."
Appearance
If Shadow CAT would have appeared in the bedroom, he would shares most of his features from The CAT from FNaC 2, but nightmarish features like a stitched forehead, sharpened fangs & teeth and hollow eye sockets.
Behavior
Shadow CAT can only be found in the Dreamscape simulations on Nights 3, 4, and 5. Shadow CAT's only visual depiction is its jumpscare, a 2D screen accompanied by a roar, shared with Shadow RAT.
The Shadow CAT has a set timer that appears above the screen. Every second the player steps into the darkness of the deepscape, the timer starts to count down, with an echoing tick for each second. Once the timer reaches zero, the Shadow Cat's jumpscare screen will immediately appear, causing the player to start over at the beginning of the Deepscape.
The timer will be 3 minutes on Night 3. On Night 4 however, the timer will be 2 minutes. On Night 5, the timer will be 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Trivia
- Unlike Shadow Rat, the Shadow Cat makes no appearance in the "Shadow Challenge."
- With this absence, Shadow Cat completely lacks a 3D model. Note the model in his infobox is fan made.
- Shadow Cat takes most of its appearance from the Monster Cat of FNaC 3, and "The CAT" of FNaC 2 and does not have a visible sprite in the Deepscape. It is only seen through its jumpscare.
- Shadow CAT has no visible relations to Shadow Candy from the previous two games. However, Emil Macko has stated that Shadow Candy is the CAT's soul, in his incorporeal out-of-animatronic form. He started off as a Shadow CAT, but by the first game, he had evolved into what he is now.
