Rat & Cat Theater Incident
In the cutscenes upon beating Night 1 and Night 3, Mary participates in a game of hide-and-seek with The Rat actor before the show and is found hiding either in the closet or under a table, while in Night 2 and Night 4, Mary is asked by The Cat actor to play hide and seek. On Night 5, The Rat is about to start a game of hide-and-seek with a group of many children and Mary decides to participate in it. She tries to find a place to hide, but all of her previous hiding spots have been taken. The "Staff Only" room, which was previously unavailable, is now open, with The Cat being seen running out of it. Mary runs into the room and hides in the closet within.
The Rat enters the room after Mary hides, saying that he saw her walk in and is going to find her. From within the closet, Mary witnesses The Puppeteer confronting with The Rat for being drunk during work hours. The Puppeteer asks him to think of what would happen if the parents found out a performer was drunk and to "Think of our careers! Think of the children!" The Rat is offended at the mention of the children, yelling that they love him and The Puppeteer is just jealous that The Rat is more talented than him. The Puppeteer tells The Rat to take off his costume and go home, but The Rat refuses, prompting The Puppeteer to attempt to pry off The Rat's mask. The Rat fights back and grabs The Puppeteer's neck, but is shoved off and hits the back of his neck on the sharp edge of Vinnie's bench, dying instantly.
The Cat appears in the room and asks what happened, to which The Puppeteer says it was an accident. The Cat says that they need to call the ambulance and the police, but The Puppeteer says not to, and instead wants to lie to the police and say that The Rat had always been unstable and had been found like this. The Cat assures The Puppeteer that it was an honest mistake and they have to tell the authorities the truth. The Cat goes to the telephone to contact the authorities, but The Puppeteer sneaks behind him and strangles him to death. The Puppeteer then calls the police, tells them that he found both of his co-workers dead, takes his diploma, and leaves the room with Mary still in the closet.
As the Truth Ending fades in, a doctor's report of Mary's case is displayed, stating how they should notify the police of the newfound information, and should reopen the case once more.
